GE oven wont open after self cleaning

I put my GE oven through the self cleaning option and now it wont open at all is there a way to get it re-opened and how do I prevent that from hapening again?

it sounds like the thermal cut off switch has either overheated or failed, that would need to be replaced so that it doesnt lock again as for opening the door I would recomend to have a certified technician help you with that.
